Fit Tip: For days when you are really pressed for time, the 10-minute workouts are a great time saver. If you have a little bit more time, do one in the morning and one in the evening and get in full workout. On days when you have all the time in the world, you can put together a bunch of different videos and get a tough workout in. For example, start off with some cardio (Jillian Michael's Boost Metabolism is a great one! or have some fun with Capoeira or Bollywood. Move on to some scultping (Harley Pasternick's 5 Factor Fitness works multiple areas and targets different areas in each segment, Biggest Loser Power Sculpt is another good one). Finally, finish with some yoga and stretching (Yoga Sculpt and Less is More Yoga are both good options).

The 10 minute workouts sound useful for those days when hard-pressed for time. How can one get in a good cardio workout with one or two 10-minute workouts in a day? Should the cardio workouts be done on days with more time. I always thought cardio should be sustained for at least 20 minutes. What do you think FitBritt? This blog sounds quite helpful and I am looking forward to following.
ReplyDeleteDoing at lest 20 minutes of consecutive aerobic activity is best to maintain cardiovascular fitness. However, if your only option is to workout for about 10 minutes or forgo exercise completely, then of course try to get in 10 minutes in the morning and another 10 minutes in the afternoon. However, if you feel constantly pressed for time on certain days, you may want to try and save cardio workouts for the days where you do have more time and do sculpting, pilates or yoga workouts on the days when you have only 10 minutes to spare. Readers, what do you think?
ReplyDeletePilates is always a wonderful workout if you are motivated to do it yourself for 10 minutes correctly! Ten minutes of pilates is worth 20 minutes of other fitness, done properly. What pilates moves are good for the 10 minute workouts? Not sure about the sculpting. What do people do for a brief sculpting workout?
